Boston man killed in Nottinghamshire road crash

A 40-year-old man from Boston was killed in a road crash in Nottinghamshire on the weekend.

Neil Atkins died in the collision which happened in Nottingham Road, Southwell, on Sunday.

Police were called to the scene at about 2.20pm.

A silver Mini Cooper, a lorry carrying horses and a silver Ford Zetec had been involved in the collision near Brackenhurst College.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, Mr Atkins, who lived in the Newark area but was originally from Boston, died at the scene.

The occupants of the other vehicles sustained minor injuries.

The horses being transported in the lorry were unharmed.
