Network Rail has said shortly before 4pm it was advised of a fault with the signalling system at Broadfield Lane level crossing in Boston.

A spokesman said: “To protect the safety of those travelling on trains, as well as road users, the barriers are currently being kept down.

“Network Rail engineers are on their way to site where they will work to resolve the issue.

“We’d like to apologise to anyone who is currently experiencing disruption as a result of this fault.”

Motorists have been reporting the West Street level crossing is also affected, but Network Rail says just one crossing has been impacted by the signalling fault.
