A bench and some surface stones in Boston’s Market Place have been damaged by what is believed to be a vehicle hit-and-run.
A Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) spokesman said it is believed a vehicle may have hit the bench, which was situated opposite the new entrance to the Herbert Ingram Memorial.
The incident is believed to have taken place between February 7-8. The flattened bench was temporarily moved to grass in the memorial area until is was taken away by the council.
Andy Wharff, area highways manager for LCC, said: “We are currently sourcing a new bench and will look to replace the damaged one as soon as possible.”
A spokesman for Boston Borough Council added: “We are reviewing CCTV images in a search for evidence of how and who may have caused the damage.”
