Nine weeks of roadworks to complete the third phase of footway and cycleway between Wyberton and Frampton is due to start tomorrow
Once completed, pedestrians and cyclists will be able to travel along this stretch of road between the villages in much greater safety.
A Lincolnshire County Council spokesman said: “The scheme has been led by the Highways Network South team, working closely with the local community who are keen to create a safe cycle route for residents as well as school children who travel along this route.”
Phases 1 and 2 have been completed, and together they form a shared cycleway/footway, 2.5m-wide which runs from the junction of Ralph’s Lane to just north of 1 London Road.
The completion of Phase 3 will see the construction of a further 360 metres of shared cycleway/footway running south from just north of 1 London Road, creating a total of more than 1,000 metres of off road cycleway.
Phase 4 is planned to be constructed during 2015/16, subject to available funding.
The spokesman added: “It is hoped all the works should be completed within nine weeks, weather permitting.
“The county council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
During the work, there will be two-way traffic lights to control the traffic flow.
Pedestrians will have access to the footway on the opposite side of the carriageway, and the council says access to properties will be maintained at all times.
