A one way emergency road closure will be in place on Sleaford Road in Boston from today until Sunday to allow Anglian Water to repair a collapsed sewer.
Traffic coming into town from the Sleaford direction will be able to continue as normal, but traffic travelling west from West Street level crossing will be diverted via Lister Way, Fydell Street and Brothertoft Road.
A highways spokesman said: “If the condition of the sewer worsens, a section of the road between Lister Way and Brothertoft Road may need to be closed before these dates without warning in the interest of public safety.
“LCC Highways are also trying to arrange for other outstanding utility works on Sleaford Road to be completed during the same closure.”
Network Rail will also be completing essential maintenance work on Grand Sluice level crossing on two weekends in February.
It will be closed from 9.30pm on Saturday February 1 until 1am on Monday February 3, and from 9.30pm on Saturday February 8 until 9am on Sunday February 9.
A spokesman added: “LCC Highways has taken advantage of this closure and invited BT to complete maintenance works at the junction with Tattershall Road at the same time, to minimise future disruption to motorists.”
