A woman has died following the discovery of a car in the water in the Horncastle Road area of Boston.
Police were alerted at 7.45am this morning, Tuesday May 24, and found a car submerged in Maud Foster Drain.
A woman was found seriously injured in the car. She was taken to hospital for treatment but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
A police spokesman said: “We are not in a position to be able to name the woman, but she is from the Boston area and believed to be aged 70. Her next of kin have been made aware.”
Police remain on the scene while the investigation into the circumstances continues.
