Trio raised more than £3,000 with Pennine trek for cancer cause

A TRIO of men have braved an 18 day trek across the Pennine Way, raising £3,328 for a cancer charity.

Rick Creek, Nigel Earle and Stephen Cory made the 267 mile walk in memory of those they had lost to cancer.

Rick, who did the trek in memory of his wife Rachel, a Pilgrim Hospital nurse who died in November 2010 said some days were difficult but they carried on.

He said: “It was hard, very, very hard.

“There were a few days where we said ‘if there’s any more hills we’re not going on anymore!’”

It took them 17 days to complete the journey from Derbyshire to the Scottish Border.

The three men raised the money for Cancer Research and thanked all who had donated.
