The A52 remains closed after a teenage moped rider was seriously injured in a collision at Wyberton Fen.

A 19 year-old local girl was taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital after her moped was in collision with an Audi around 7am.

Currently the A52 is closed between the Tesco roundabout and the Four Crossroads junction and is likely to remain so for some hours. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible and follow diversions.

Coach firm Byrlaine have tweeted to say: “K59 Spalding - Boston diverted down the Boardsides until further notice. No Pickup on Swineshead Road due to serious accident.”

Sgt Ewan Gell, from the Collision Investigation Team, is urgently appealing to trace a driver, who may be an important witness. The driver was in a Land Rover Freelander (colour not known), and overtook a Volvo artic cab (without the trailer) shortly before the collision.

If you are that driver, or you are a witness to the collision, pleases call the collision witness hotline on 01522 558855.
