UPDATE: Body in water at Boston Docks is identified

The body recovered yesterday from Boston Docks is believed to be that of local man Nigel Gee.

Nigel, aged 60, of Fenside Road, Boston, was reported missing on January 4, 2015.

A police spokesman said: “No formal identification has yet been carried out and we must await the results of DNA/forensic tests before we will know for sure.”

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Thursday - 4pm:

Police have recovered a body from the water at Boston Docks.

Shortly before 11am today (Thursday) Lincolnshire Police received a report of a body in the water at the docks, a spokesman for the police confirmed.

“We have now recovered the body are trying to identify who it is. It is the body of a man,” the spokesman added.

“Currently we do not know how the body came to be in the water nor do we know the cause of death.

“An investigation has been commenced and we will keep an open mind until the facts are established. We will issue further information as soon as we are able.”
