The death of a woman following a car entering the Maud Foster Drain in Boston yesterday (Tuesday) is ‘not believed to be suspicious’, police have said.
A statement on the force website today (Wednesday) said the decision followed an investigation into the incident, in which the woman was originally found seriously injured but later died after a car left Horncastle road.
They said: “We are now satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”
The incident was called in at 7.45am yesterday and the woman, a 70-year-old from Boston, was found in the submerged car.
She was taken to hospital but sadly later died.
