Update: Motorcyclist dies in crash at West Keal – Main Road remains closed

Police now say the motorcyclist killed in yesterday’s crash at West Keal was a man from the Nottinghamshire area.

As of 9.30am, the road remained closed because of damage to overhead lines.

• A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Main Road, West Keal, yesterday Sunday.

Emergency services were called out at about 4pm.

The 44-year-old rider of the Kawasaki ZX was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the road remains closed this morning because of damage to overhead wires.

A blue Vauxhall Zafira is believed to have been involved and police are appealing for witnesses who saw the car or motorbike before the accident to call them on 101.
