The A16 has been cleared and reopened following an incident between a motorcyclist and a car today (Monday).

The road was closed after the motorcyclist was in collision with the car at 12.20pm at Causeway, Wyberton, near the Saundergate Lane junction.

It was reopened at about 3.10pm.

Monday, 13.44pm - The A16 has been closed after a motorcyclist was in collision with a car.

The incident is thought to have taken place at Causeway, Wyberton, close to the Saundergate Lane junction.

A police spokesman said the cyclist had skidded off their bike and gone under the car, however, their injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

The road is said to be closed in both directions at the junction with Saundergate Lane in Wyberton.

Police are on the scene directing traffic but it is hoped the road will reopen in the next hour.

Traffic is said to be moving very slowly in the area as a result.
