UPDATE: Teenager who died in crash named

The 19-year-old man who died in a crash in Stickney in the early hours of Thursday morning has been named locally as Ian Deer, from Revesby.

Police have confirmed they are carrying out forensic examinations of the vehicle involved but they are unable to reveal at this stage if the deceased was the passenger or the driver.

The teenager was in a Vauxhall Corsa that crashed into a ditch and collided with some trees on West Fen at about 1.22am.

Another 19-year-old male from the car was arrested in connection with the crash. He is not thought to have been seriously injured.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses who saw the Corsa prior to the crash to call the force’s witness hotline on 01522 558855.
