The authorities have said that people who need a safe place to go to avoid possible flooding in Boston can go to the Princess Royal Sports Arena.

People in the town are being urged to go to a safe place in case predicted floods come at high tide tonight.

The county council says that this is classed as the upstairs of your house but have made back up plans.

Anyone who is unable to get to a safe location, or who is not able to get to a friend or neighbour’s house where there is a safe location, is able to go to the Princess Royal Sports Arena in Great Fen Road.

People who need to get to the PRSA can head to Asda bus stop, Boston Bus Station or Wide Bargate outside the Post Office for a half hourly bus service to take them there.

A spokesman stressed that this service should only be used by people who need it, and stressed that people should be safe upstairs in their own homes.

The council says people should ensure they take warm clothing and medicines with them if they do need to evacuate.
