Police are warning people to be vigilant after reports of sheep being stolen from fields in rural areas around Boston.

A Lincs Alert sent out by PCSO David Russell said there had been ‘two separate reports of theft’.

A police spokesman confirmed one incident, which took place between 4pm-1pm, February 4-5, saw five Dartmoor sheep taken from a field at Old Leake.

They said blood in the field suggested they may have been killed and the carcasses stolen.

Details about a second incident are not available at this time, police say.
