FIND out the story at the Axe and Cleaver, on Friday, as a tribute to the Guinness world record’s ‘Most Successful Act of the Last Decade’ between 1995 and 2005 performs.

Ohasis will be performing some of Oasis’s hits at the West Street venue.

The band, from the Midlands, consist of vocalist Shane, lead guitarist and vocalist Scott, bass guitarist Steve, rhythm guitarist Nick and drummer Al.

The band says it got together and set out with one goal ‘to become the world’s greatest tribute band to Oasis’.

Some might say the band members have done their homework, playing the songs in the most current live arrangements, with accuracy.

They say nailing the Oasis look was very important, ‘as image is everything; and was everything to Oasis’.

The band has even invested in the exact same guitars, basses and drums used live by Oasis.

It has headlined a number of festivals all around the world, including The Belfast Taste and Music festival, Live Bestival in Brindisi, Italy, and Glastonferry, at Penketh.

In November they were licensed to record a 20 track tribute album to Oasis.

Entitled You Gotta Fake It – A Tribute to Oasis, the album is now available to download on all major music download sites, including iTunes, Amazon and Play.com.

It is planned to be accompanied by a live Ohasis concert DVD due for release in 2011.

The show at the Axe starts at 10.30pm and entry is free.
