Worksop: Charity mentor wins national award

A former police officer who has been working with former offenders for a Worksop charity has won a prestigious national award.

Lawson Main picked up the Mentors Award at the Redemption & Justice Awards held at Hinckley in Leicestershire.

Lawson has been part of Zaccheaus Project in Worksop for the last 12 years and has also been a Kainos Challenge to Change mentor for the last three years, as well as with other charities.

Since 2010, he has mentored eight ex-offenders through the Kainos project and is currently mentoring another four.
