I WAS interested to read Paul Mould’s item on St Aidan’s Church (Boston Standard, Wednesday, September 19).
I am researching the history of St Aidan’s Chapel of Ease which had some troubled times in the 1890s and 1920s.
Its closure in 1922 was largely due to differences of opinion between the incumbent and the churchwardens and parishioners.
Too much time has elapsed for anyone to remember services there but I would be very grateful to hear from anyone who remembers going inside the building.
I am also looking for photographs and any family stories that people may have. Is anyone related to the church members still buried in the crypt?
They include Jeptha Pacey, the architect, who may have been the church’s designer.
