Open and honest relationships are key for schools’ futures

I WAS delighted to read in last week’s Standard the comments made by Jayne Coddington, chairman of the governors of the Boston Witham Schools’ Federation and Ian Wright, chairman of the interim executive board at St Bede’s.

I would like to echo their advice to parents to check all of the information that they are given carefully, to put them in a position to make an informed judgement for themselves.

I too believe strongly we should be working in such a way which avoids unprofessionalism, misinformation or indeed personal attacks.

I look forward to providing the very best for all of our young people by having an open and honest working relationship which avoids comments which could be interpreted as being disrespectful to individual staff, schools, students or their families.
