Poetry Corner: The London Marathon

Poet Angie Brown pens a piece on the London Marathon for this week’s Poetry Corner.

Thousands line up at the start,

A multi-coloured horde.

Some wearing silly costumes,

One man playing a keyboard.

With aching legs and blistered feet

The fun runners cut quite a dash.

One thing they’ve got in common,

They’re all raising lots of cash.

For some it seems a real breeze.

For others quite a chore.

And many as they reach the end,

Say to friends, NO MORE!
