Boston CC’s Third XI earned a 25-run victory when they entertained Spalding Thirds on Saturday.

After Boston won the toss they elected to bat and began putting together 147 runs before they were dismissed with the penultimate delivery of the innings.

Tom Poole top scored for Boston as he hit 30 runs, including four fours.

He was backed up by runs from Karl Pick (21), Sam Major (18) and Callum McNulty (15) in this South Lincs and Border League Division Two match.

In response, Boston dismissed their opponents for 122 runs in the 42nd over.

Boston’s bowlers did enough damage with the ball to secure victory, despite some promising Spalding scores.

Steve Appleyard claimed five wickets for the loss of 26 runs from his 9.2 overs.

Michael Troops dismissed three victims at the cost of 31 runs while Sam Major took two wickets for the loss of 25 runs.

Boston’s Sunday Firsts saw their Lincoln and District League Premier Division match against Bracebridge Heath abandoned due to the weather.

Boston were on 131-2 with Matthew Hood (54) and Kieran Evans (40) both back in the pavillion.

Boston’s Sunday Seconds lost by nine wickets at Revesby in Division One.

The away side were dismissed for 34 and their hosts responded with 35-1.
