Azim’s century leads Boston CC Seconds to victory

A superb century from Saihan Azim helped Boston CC Seconds to a 125-run victory over Cavaliers in the South Lincs and Border League Division One on Saturday.

His monstrous innings included nine fours and two sixes as he posted 102 runs before being trapped LBW by Jamie Hayes.

Tom Poole (17), Tony Baxter (19), Gareth Epton (22), Paul Tetther (29), Sam Major (15) and Sam Gilding (10 not out) helped Boston finish their 45 overs with an impressive return of 250-8.

With the ball, the Mayflower men dismissed Cavaliers for 125, thanks to Major (4-29), Shaun Moore (2-26), Azim (2-13) and Ben Troops (2-19).

Boston Thirds lost by seven wickets in their SLBL Division Two match at Pinchbeck.

Dave Gilding (14) and Sean Barnett (10) posted early runs for Boston but further double-figure scores failed to arrive with regularity.

Steve Elleray chipped in with 19 runs and Jack Tetther top scored from the tail end with 20 runs as Boston were dismissed for 111.

Pinchbeck reached 113 for the loss of just three runs to claim victory.

Steve Appleyard (2-15) and Tetther (1-21) took the wickets.

Boston’s Sunday Firsts won their Lincoln and District League Premier Division match against Middle Rasen by five wickets.

Rasen were dismissed for 115 while Matt Poole’s 51 helped Boston to 116-5.

The Sunday Seconds lost by seven wickets at Morton in Division One.

Boston were all out for 89, with the hosts posting 90-3.
