Boston Cricket Club First XI captain Tom Baxter is warning his side not to take the threat of Woodhall Spa Seconds lightly.
The Mayflower men currently sit top of the South Lincs and Border League Premier Division, 10 points clear of title favourites Grantham.
But Baxter knows that unless his side are on top of their game when they entertain Woodhall this Saturday, that lead could disappear.
“Woodhall will be a young side but they are definitely not to be underestimated,” Baxter said.
“They have cricketers good enough to win games at this level and, if we are not on it, they will beat us.
“However, we will be going into the game with a victory at the forefront of our minds.
“The second XIs are the most dangerous sides in my opionion.
“They can call on first XI players but, more importantly, they have cricketers in their sides with points to prove to their respective first teams.”
Boston Firsts have started the season with three victories and an abandonment and sit at the top of the table, but Baxter (pictured) once again refused to get carried away.
He added: “We sit top now, but we sat top for 15 weeks last year and then it went wrong.
“The table becomes important in August and September.
“It’s one game at a time with us at the moment.”
