Boston Cricket Club Firsts travel to Bourne Seconds on Saturday, looking for a victory which will see them keep the pressure on Grantham.

The Mayflower men sit five points behind the leaders and are hoping that a slip could see them regain top spot.

But first they will have to overcome a strong Bourne team, with their own designs on climbing the South Lincs and Border League Premier Division table.

“I think they are a very talented side,” said Boston skipper Tom Baxter (pictured).

“They’ve beaten Grantham and beat us twice last year.

“They could turn us over so it is important that we really are up for it on Saturday.”

Boston hope to welcome back Ryan Croom to the side after he missed Saturday’s storming victory at Skegness through a knee injury.

“We will be at full strength,” Baxter added.

“If they beat us, they can definitely get second place.

“They finished there last year and I would imagine they will still be looking to win every game possible.”

Turning his attentions to Grantham, Baxter added: “Looking at their side, I expect them to win their last three games, but it is not a certainty that you will pick up all 20 points in these games.

“We will be focusing on winning three games and seeing where we are after that.

“We might not get 20 each week. We still have tough games left.”
