Tom Baxter believes Boston Cricket Club Firsts have to take the game to Billingborough on Saturday if they have any chance of winning the South Lincs and Border League Premier Division title.
The Mayflower men host their rivals on Saturday, looking to close the 14-point lead Billingborough currently hold.
“If Billingborough can pick up seven points this weekend when they come to us, it will be their title,” Baxter said.
“I honestly believe their last four games will see them pick up a maximum 80 points, so Saturday is massive.”
Billingborough have won the league four times in recent years, but managed to miss out on promotion due to Premier League regulations.
“This may be their last real attempt at promotion,” Baxter added.
“They’ve brought in some good cricketers and it will be a great game of cricket.”
Boston managed to pull off a close victory in the reverse fixture when they defended a total of 144.
Leading run scorer Kieran Evans and Tim Bell will return to the Boston side, with Peter Moore and Andy Hewitt (pictured) no longer available.
Moore has work commitments and Hewitt will begin the football season with Boston United Reserves, where he is their goalkeeper.
The top versus second fixture will begin at 1pm at the Mayflower on Saturday.
