Boston CC’s Seconds suffered an agonising one-run defeat at Thomas Cook in the South Lincs and Border League Division One.

The hosts were dismissed for 163, thanks to wickets from Lewish Holmes (three), Kevin Brooks (three), Sam Major (three) and Gareth Epton.

Major (52), Epton (24) Callum McNulty (13) and Tom Poole (13) could only help Boston to 162 before their final wicket fell.

Boston’s Thirds saw their match at Claypole abandoned due to batsman Graham Porter being taken ill during the game.

Steve Appleyard (two), Nick Thurlby (two), Tom Appleyard (two), Vikram Kippy and Oliver Thurlby took wickets as Claypole posted 312-8.

However, with Sean Barnett on 21 not out, the contest was ended.

Tom Baxter hit 52 in Boston Sunday Firsts’ Lincoln League Premier Division match at Hartsholme.

Boston finished on 177-9, but the hosts won it with 179-4.

In the Lincoln League Division One, Boston Sunday Seconds were beaten by Heckington.

Heckington posted 183-7, Boston replying with 118.
