Boston Cricket Club are waiting to discover whether Saihan Azim will be fit to face Grantham Seconds on Saturday.
The batsman scored 36 during Saturday’s victory against Belton Park before being forced to retire due to a knee injury.
Captain Tom Baxter is hoping Azim will be available for the South Lincs and Border League Premier Division contest as they will be without the services of Kieran Evans, as he returns to university.
However, Boston will welcome back Tim Bell and Ricky Drury to the Mayflower as their footballing commitments have concluded.
Grantham Seconds are newly promoted to the SLBL Premier, and will play their first contest of the season at the Mayflower on Saturday.
And Baxter admits this weekend’s opponents are something of an unknown quantity.
“I don’t know much about them and I’m not sure how many players they have brought into their first team,” the skipper said.
“We will just have to wait and see what they have.”
Baxter also praised Dave Newman’s 155 runs against Belton Park on Saturday, adding: “Power and precision with the bat saw the scoreboard racing along.
“It was a great start.”
