Boston Cricket Club Firsts lose at Lindum to remain bottom of Lincs ECB Premier

BOSTON Cricket Club’s First XI remain at the foot of the Lincs ECB Premier after a 40-run loss at Lindum.

The Lincoln-based side finished on 163-9, despite Colin Cheer taking the scalps of the top five batsmen.

Alex Hornsby was in fine form, hitting 86 runs for Lindum.

In reply, Boston couldn’t reach their total, despite a good 40 not out from Matt Poole.

Paul Kelly’s four-wicket haul set Boston Cricket Club Seconds up for a three-wicket victory over Thomas Cook in the South Lincs and Boirder League Division Two.

Thomas Cook were all out for 132, while the Seconds finished on 132-7.

Peter Moore top scored with 35.

Boston Thirds eased past Pinchbeck in the SLBL Division Three.

Lewis Holmes took five wickets as Pinchbeck finished on 110.

Peter Mitchell’s 34 helped Boston to 111-5.

The Friendly XI of dads and lads lost to Grimoldby in the R.P. Smith Transport League.

Boston’s highest total of the season (171-6) was aided by Nick Thurlby’s 67.

Thurlby also took three wickets in a two-wicket defeat.

In the Lincoln and District Sunday League Division One, Boston Sunday Seconds won by six wickets at Blankney.

Sam Gilding took five wickets for the loss of 12 runs to set things up nicely.

With the bat, Jonny Cheer did the majority of the damage, hitting 66 runs.
