In-form Boston Cricket Club Firsts have just two matches left to try to reclaim top spot in the South Lincs and Border League Premier Division.
Tom Baxter’s side ruthlessly brushed aside third-placed Bourne on Saturday, just as they did to Skegness seven days earlier.
However, leaders Grantham have also picked up good points hauls from their past two matches to remain five points clear.
Over the the past two weeks Boston have dismissed Skegness for 47 and Bourne for 84, and knocked those runs off only losing three wickets along the way.
Boston are looking to pick up another 20 points when they host relegation-threatened Welby on Saturday.
The Mayflower men may be favourites to win this weekend, but Baxter is warning his side that complacency could see their title charge crumble.
“It doesn’t matter where they are in this league,” he said.
“They are in our league and we will need to perform again.
“You don’t win games in this league if you don’t put the effort in.”
Boston will have a full-strength side, with the exception of Tim Bell, who will return to football duties.
“Winning the league is not on our mind,” Baxter (pictured) added.
“We set our target of getting 80 points from the last four games and we’re halfway through those games and have convincingly picked up 40 points.”
