Charlie’s half century not enough for Seconds

Boston Seconds were undone by Simon Godby’s batting display on Saturday.

The Sleaford opener hit exactly 100 runs before Damian Lawson caught him off Charlie Roberts’ delivery.

His century, aided by good knocks from Tom Brooke (33), Kurt Colyn (27) and Sumit Puri (14), helped the hosts post 224 before being dismissed in the final over.

For Boston, Roberts earned figures of 4-41, while further wickets were taken by Lawson (3-9), Paul Roberts (1-35) and Michael Troops (1-64).

Charlie Ward addded a run out.

Boston reached 135 before they were all out.
