THE Rain ruined the weekend for Boston Cricket Club - but no-one was left more gutted than Jonathan Cheer.

The batsman scored 168 not out, only to see his innings count for nothing after the match he was playing in was abandoned.

Saturday’s matches were all rained off, but Boston Sunday Seconds thought they would see their Lincoln and District League Division One match through.

Cheer grabbed his runs - with teammate Ricky Drury adding 55 for the Mayflower men - as Boston posted 300-5 against Bracebridge Heath.

However, that was it as the heavens opened and Bracebridge never took to the wicket.

For the first time this season, all the Lincs ECB Premier matches were rained off, including Boston Firsts’ clash with Deeping.

However, they remain in second spot.
