Boston Cricket Club’s First XI will finish their season at Stamford Town Seconds on Saturday - and the Mayflower men still have a chance of claiming the South Lincs and Border League Premier Division title.
Tom Baxter’s side secured second spot with a 20-point haul against Welby this weekend, but they remain five points behind Grantham.
The leaders will complete their campaign at Skegness, and Baxter expects them to hold on to top spot.
He said: “They will not lose to Skegness. They need 15 points.
“We said after our one-run loss to Grantham that we would forget about them and we have done.
“We wanted 80 points from our final four games and we have 60 of them in the bank already.”
Stamford will also have their First XI available to pick from on Saturday.
Boston will be missing Paul Roberts for the season finale but Tim Bell could return.
Baxter has also hinted that Abdul Moeed may make an appearance for the Firsts.
Dave Newman (pictured) made his Boston debut on Saturday, after transferring from Billingborough.
And Baxter would like the player to move permenantly, adding: “Dave came in and really fitted in. He’s definitely a useful asset to any club.
“It would be great if we could secure Dave’s services for next year, but we will get next week out the way and then have a chat with him.”
