Boston CC’s Second XI suffered a 95-run defeat at home to Market Deeping Seconds in the South Lincs and Border League Division One on Saturday.
Sam Gilding and Charlie Ward took two wickets apiece as the visitors finished their 45 overs on 176-5.
Saihan Azim claimed the other victim.
In response, Boston were bowled out for 81; Azim (20), Sam Major (10) and Gilding (10) top scoring.
There was something to cheer, however, for Boston’s Thirds.
Competing in the SLBL Division Two, they earned a four-wicket success at the expense of Timberlands Firsts.
Steve and Tom Appleyard did most of the damage with the ball.
Steve took four wickets and claimed three catches as Timberlands were dismissed for 90.
Tom chipped in with three wickets and a catch.
Kev Brooks and Patrick Hallam also claimed victims.
In response, Boston finished on 94-6.
Graham Porter (16), Kartik Kippy (12) and Hallam (13) helped the Thirds over the finish line.
Kieran Evans hit a century as Boston Sunday Firsts beat Owmby by 74 runs in the Lincoln and District Premier Division.
His unbeaten 101 was backed up by 57 from Jonny Cheer, plus good hits from Peter Moore (26) and Matthew Poole (15), as the Mayflower men finished on 214-3.
Owmby finished on 140-6, with Haffi Mazhar, Abhiraj Singh, Josh Warner, Josh Butler and Scott Elleray each taking a wicket, and Elleray adding a run out.
Boston’s Sunday Seconds also tasted victory in the Lincoln and District Division One, beating Heighington by 88 runs.
Peter Mitchell’s 66 was the top score, with runs added by Michael Troops (28), Liam Adams (23), Paul Deans (22), Louis Goulder (12) and Shaun Moore (11) as Boston recorded 191-9.
Heighington’s innings ended on 103.
Ben Troops (four), Michael Troops (three) and Shaun Moore (three) did the damage with the ball.
