Boston Town’s UCL Premier contest with Holbeach United failed to go ahead tonight, due to floodlight failure.
The lights along one side of the Tattershall Road pitch wouldn’t turn on this evening.
As both teams warmed-up, officials, helpers and even Poachers midfielder Ollie Pinner - an electrician - attempted to get the lights up and running... but to no avail.
Just before 8pm, the match was postponed.
It is not sure what action the United Counties League will take, although this is not the first time something similar has happened to Town.
Last season Boston’s league match with Wellingborough was halted at half time due to a problem with the lights.
The match was replayed at a later date.
Since then, Town have spent several thousand pounds updating the lights.
