Andi Thanoj’s season is over, but Boston United fans may not have seen the last of him.

The midfielder was injured in the goalless draw at Brackley Town on March 3, but manager Craig Elliott has revealed he is in talks about extending the player’s contract, which is due to expire this summer.

“He’s suffered some bad knee ligament damage,” Elliott told The Standard.

“Unfortunately, Andi’s season is over.

“We had a chat on Thursday (about a new contract) and we’ll continue to talk.

“I want him to be with the club next season.”

Thanoj has scored seven goals in 30 appearances this season.

Elliott also confirmed that striker Jake Wright is ‘fine’ following his head injury picked up against Cleethorpes Town on Tuesday.

The striker looks set to be ruled out for 19 days, the precautionary time on the sidelines for players who have suffered concussion.

But if the loanee can get passed fit by York City’s doctor he may be allowed to return even sooner.
