April showers force Boston Saturday Football League to be extended

THE untimely end of season downpours continued to cause problems for the Saturday League as they attempted to draw their season to a close.

Two midweek league games and two cup finals were postponed while last Saturday’s Division One match between Boston United Community and Wyberton was called off for a second time in a week. The league matches should have drawn to an end last weekend, but now several games have had to be re-arranged during the current midweek and this forthcoming Saturday.

The Willoughby Shield final between Coningsby Reserves and Swineshead Institute Reserves is now due to take place this Saturday at Boston Town’s ground, kick-off 2.30pm.

The Willoughby Cup final between Fishtoft and Spilsby Town will then go ahead on Tuesday at the same venue (KO 7pm).

This Saturday also sees Swineshead Institute host Donington in the Swineshead Cup. The event will be held at Swineshead Institute’s Causeway ground (KO 6.30pm).
