Boston Town are desperate to end their seven-match winless run - but they now see themselves facing the United Counties League Premier Division’s top three sides in a row.
Two of those matches may be in cups, but the form guide suggests the Poachers would wish to be facing opposition who are not all in top gear right now.
Tonight Town will travel to rivals Holbeach United.
The Poachers - who currently sit in 17th spot in the division - will make the short journey to Carter’s Park to face the Tigers in Lincolnshire Senior Trophy action (KO 7.45pm).
Amazingly, Boston’s last victory came at the very same ground, where they recorded a 4-2 FA Cup success back on August 30.
Since then they have drawn once and suffered six defeats, one of those being a 2-1 home league defeat to Holbeach, who curently sit second in the table, a point behind Yaxley and with a game in hand.
Town will be involved in more action on Saturday when they travel to face Cogenhoe in the UCL Knockout Cup’s second round.
Cogenhoe are also in form right now, occupying third spot in the league standings.
They sit three points behind Holbeach and are level on matches played.
Boston return to league action on Tuesday when league leaders Yaxley are the visitors to the DWB Stadium.
Town were knocked out of the FA Vase on Saturday, going down 1-0 at Great Yarmouth.
Jason Thompson’s strike three minutes after the break was enough for the hosts to seal victory for the Bloaters.
Yarmouth play in the Eastern Counties League Division One, one step below the Poachers in the footballing pyramid.
