Boston Town are looking for improvement

Nathan Collins is calling for an improvement as Boston Town host Desborough at Tattershall Road this afternoon.

Collins described the Poachers’ recent victories over Harborough and Stewarts & Lloyds Corby as ‘the best two performances of the season’.

However, Town weren’t able to replicate that free-flowing style during last weekend’s goalless draw with Newport Pagnell.

But manager Collins is calling for a return to form this afternoon.

Twelfth-placed Ar Tarn are currently a place and five points ahead of Boston, with a game in hand.

Although Collins would like to narrow the gap, he admits it is not his top priority.

He said: “We want to win every game. But I’m not looking at this match and thinking the main priority is finishing above Desborough in the table.

“Finishing a place or two higher at the end of the season dosn’t make a great deal of difference to us now.

“What we want to do is improve our performances and give ourselves something to build on for next season.”

Town are facing Desborough for the first time this campaign.

The reverse picture will be played at the Waterworks Field on April 19.

Matt Kennedy is expected to be available for Boston following a recent injury.

Kick off is at 3pm.
