Boston Town return to league action today, travelling to face Wellingborough.

Following Wednesday’s 3-1 FA Cup replay victory at Walsham Le Willows, Nathan Collins is hoping his side can make it back-to-back victories.

However, he admits that UCL Premier matches, at this early stage of the campaign, are often a case of going into the great unknown.

With teams making so many changes during the summer months, he says you can never quite gauge what will happen in the opening weeks.

“It’s really hard to know exactly what to expect in the first few matches,” he said.

“So many sides bring in new players and you can’t always tell what teams will be like until the league settles down a little bit.

“They haven’t had a great start, but that doesn’t mean they’re not a good side.”

The Doughboys have lost their opening three matches of the season.

League defeats against Harrowby United (1-0) and Cogenhoe United (3-1) were followed by Saturday’s FA Cup defeat to Bedfont and Feltham (4-2).

Boston, meanwhile, have beaton AFC Kempston Rovers (2-0), lost at Peterborough Northern Star (5-3) and drawn and beaten Walsham (1-1 and 3-1).

Kick off at the Dog and Duck is at 3pm.
