Ricky Miller admits it was a ‘good feeling’ when he discovered he had been named as January’s Skrill North Player of the Month.
The striker bagged nine goals in five matches - including home hat-tricks against both Workington and Solihull Moors - to earn the accolade.
“It sounds good. I had an inkling I may be up for it because I’ve scored a few goals,” Miller told The Standard.
“But when I found out it hit home and it was a good feeling.
“We need to just keep kicking on now, and I couldn’t do it without the team.”
Miller - nicknamed ‘The Rash’ by manager Dennis Greene for his desire to cover every blade of grass in a match - is the second Pilgrim to scoop the prize this season, with defender Carl Piergianni taking the title in November.
Now Miller is eyeing a promotion medal: “We’ve set our standards and we’re all buzzing.”
