SPENCER Weir-Daley is being heavily linked to a return to Boston United.
The striker was the Pilgrims’ leading scorer last campaign, grabbing 14 goals as Boston reached the Blue Square Bet North play-offs.
But despite being offered a new deal in the summer, managers Jason Lee and Lee Canoville took the contract off the table as the laid-back forward failed to give them an answer by the deadline they set.
Instead, SWD was handed a deal at Blue Square Bet Premier AFC Telford United after impressing on trial.
However, he was soon loaned out to Buxton in a bid to get match fit and has failed to hold down a place in the side.
Weir-Daley, it has been suggested, could train with the Pilgrims tonight ahead of Saturday’s FA Trophy clash against Dartford.
The 26-year-old has previously played for Nottingham Forest and Notts County.
If he does rejoin the club, he won’t be the first familiar face to come back to the club this season.
Liam Parker, Mikel Suarez, Julian Joachim, Adam Millson, Lawrie Dudfield, Ian Ross and Kevin Austin have all done the same.
