Barrow 4 Boston United 4: Ratings

Lewis King.
Lewis King.

Boston United drew 4-4 at Barrow. But how did the players rate?

Lewis King - 7 (out of 10)

Made a number of good stops, especially with his legs in the first half but was left horribly exposed for the two Bluebirds goals. Gareth Arnison beat him to the ball for Ben Milnes - Barrow’s third, before King was booked for his part in a shoving contest with Tom Corner. Always eventful.

Conor Marshall - 6

Played some very clever and patient build-up passes with the midfield as United looked to build attacks from the back.

David Ferguson - 6

Never afraid to push on and help the attack. It was his cut-in which began the move which saw Miller open the scoring.

Jay Dowie - 6

A solid display in the first half as part of Boston’s new-look diamond system. Replaced by Ben Milnes at the interval due to injury.

Scott Garner - 6

Both Garner and his defensive partner Carl Piergianni were far from their best, despite both making a series of vital interceptions. Pushed up front late on and maybe could have had a penalty following a shove.

Carl Piergianni - 6

Bandaged up after yet another head injury. Like Garner, this wasn’t vintage Piergianni. But maybe that’s because the pair are regularly so reliable?

Ian Ross - 6

Began as the anchorman/quarterback in a midfield diamond and tested Tony Mcmillan with a 20-yard strike. Replaced by Spencer Weir-Daley.

Jamie McGhee - 7

Teed up Miller with a clever through ball and was never afraid to stick a boot in. Booked for a rash challenge as Boston trailed 4-2, but at least he dared to show passion and a desire to get back into the game.

Marc Newsham - 6

An effort which hit the Barrow side netting was Newsham’s only real sniff at goal on a quiet afternoon for the forward. Picked up a knee injury.

Ricky Miller - 8 STAR MAN

Not Miller at his full-pelt best. But a match-saving hat-trick is not something to sniff at.

Liam Agnew - 6

Drifted in and out of the game but showed some nice touches.

Ben Milnes (for Dowie HT) - 7

Supercharged Milnes scored the goal of the game after replacing Dowie, a sweet left-footer 20 yards from goal.

Spencer Weir-Daley (for Ross 62) - 6

Added a cool head to the attack and slipped in Miller to reduce the arrears.

Stefan Galinski (for Newsham 68) - 6

Joined Piergianni at the back as Garner was pushed up.

Not used: Ben Fairclough, Indy Aujla.
