Boston United will play their first competitive match of the season tonight as they host Gainsborough Trinity in the Lincolnshire Senior Cup.

The Blues beat the Pilgrims 2-0 in the same fixture last year, and Dennis Greene has his sights set on revenge.

“It’s a match we want to win,” he said.

“It’s our first competitive match of the season and we want to start winning matches.”

The winners of the contest will host Grimsby Town in the next round on Saturday (KO 3pm).

Boston will be without the suspended Stefan Galinski and Charley Sanders, while keeper Matt Gledhill is unable to play while he awaits international clearance.

Kick off at York Street is at 7.45pm.
