Boston United keen to end Southport’s impressive away record

Boston United will return to home action on Saturday as they host in-form Southport.

The Sandgrounders have had a disappointing start to the season.

However, they showed just what they are capable of last Saturday when they stunned National league North title chasers kidderminster Harriers 4-1 at Aggborough, following that up with a 3-0 win at Hereford on Tuesday.

Southport, in fact, have won their past four away matches in all competitions and haven’t lost on the road since August.

The Pilgrims will be keen to return to winning ways at the Jakemans Stadium, following their 3-1 defeat to Brackley a fortnight ago.

Brad Abbott (pictured) will be unavailanle for selection as he serves the second of his two-game ban following his red card for foul and abusive language at Ashton United.

Brad McGowan, Kabongo Tshimanga and Ashley Hemmings were all on target as the Pilgrims came from behind to beat the Port 3-2 when they last met in Boston last December.

Saturday’s match will kick off at 3pm.
