Boston United will have to win 10 more matches to finish in contention for a play-off place, according to Dennis Greene.
The Pilgrims manager believes that is his team’s target from their final 14 Vanarama North contests.
It may be a big ask, but Greene has every faith in his squad.
“We need to win 10 football matches to have any chance of making the play-offs and we’ve now got 14 games to get those wins,” he declared after Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Stockport County.
“We’ll go again at Hyde.”
Saturday’s contest against the basement side (KO 3pm) is one of those matches where Greene will be targeting a maximum return.
“They’re fighting for their lives and they’ll need to get that next win as soon as possible,” added Greene.
“We came unstuck at Workington last season. We lost 1-0 and we should have won that game.
“We won’t be taking anything lightly, but I’m really confident in this team we’ve got. We’re a strong side.”
Boston will welcome Rene Steer back from a three-match suspension, but captain Scott Garner will begin a two-match ban.
