Boston United ready for Colwyn Bay test

BOSTON United will face Colwyn Bay tonight... in a clash that promises plenty of spice.

There was no love lost when the Pilgrims and Seagulls drew 2-2 at the Jakemans Stadium in October.

United midfielder Ben Milnes rescued a point with a superb 98th-minute strike, but tensions had already boiled over, with Bay’s Damian Allen being red carded for a second booking.

And after the match, tempers remained heated, with the visiting team and staff being asked to leave the Pilgrim Lounge, where they were having their post-match meal.

This followed allegations that a member of the visiting coaching staff was involved in an exchange of words with bar staff.

In that Blue Square Bet North match in October, Jason Lee headed Boston in front, before two goals in a minute from Lee McEvilly gave the visitors an interval lead.

The Pilgrims don’t have many happy memories in north Wales, their most recent trip seeing them lose 2-1 at Wrexham and being relegated from the Football League.

Kick off is 7.45pm.
