Kyle Dixon is certain that his Boston United side could hold their own higher up the footballing ladder.

The midfield playmaker began last season with League One outfit Notts County, before making the switch to the Jakemans Stadium.

And after spending his days training with the Magpies, Dixon is tipping a number of his colleagues to go on and have bright futures in the Football League.

“To be honest, they’re not even that far away,” Dixon said when asked how his current teammates compare to his pals at Meadow Lane.

“We play good football and you have to credit Bunny (assistant manger Martyn Bunce) and the gaffer (Dennis Greene) for how we play.

“We’ve got some great players all through the team.

“I think we’re building a side which wouldn’t look out of place in a higher league.”

Dixon (pictured) is now calling upon the Pilgrims squad to prove him right and win promotion from the National League North next season.

He added: “There are definitely players at Boston who are good enough to play in the Football League and I think that will happen in the next few years.

“Hopefully, we can all get up there together.”
