Dayle Southwell says he doesn’t fear being a marked man next season.
After finishing the past campaign with 30 Boston United goals to his name - and a place in the Vanarama North’s Team of the Year - the forward will certainly be on the radar of opposition defenders.
But Southwell remains confident that he will still find his name on the scoresheet.
He told The Standard: “When we’re getting ready for a game we always talk about the opposition and the players to look out for.
“I hope they do the same about me - as it shows I’m doing my job properly.
“This has always been a physical league where defenders try to get the advantage over you, so I’m not worried.
“I always try to give something back as I don’t want anyone thinking they’ve got the better of me in a game.
“And besides, if they do try to stay close to me then it only creates space for someone else to score.”
