Boston United know they can edge a step closer to their promotion dream this afternoon.

The Pilgrims host Tamworth at the Jakemans Stadium (KO 3pm).

United sit in fifth spot, the final play-off position, and with four matches to go they host the Lambs in a crunch clash which could play a major part in the outcome of both teams’ seasons.

Tamworth sit just one place and one point behind Dennis Greene’s side.

After five straight victories, Boston drew 0-0 at Oxford City on Saturday, stretching their unbeaten run to six matches.

In contrast, Tamworth are out of form at present.

Saturday’s home defeat to Gainsborough Trinity followed on from the previous week’s 6-0 drubbing to Chorley.

In fact, the Lambs have won just one of their past five contests.

Three points for the Pilgrims would see them create some breathing space ahead of their final three matches against Stalybridge, Solihull and Leamington.

A draw would see them remain in fifth while defeat would see Greene’s side having to play catch-up once again.

Leading scorer Dayle Southwell is expected to return to United’s starting line-up today.
