Dennis Greene is looking to score an opening day hat-trick as Boston United travel to face Stockport County.

The Pilgrims will kick off their National League North campaign at Edgeley Park on Saturday (KO 3pm), for the second time in three seasons.

And after guiding United to a 4-1 win over the Hatters in 2013, plus last season’s 2-1 home win against eventual champions Barrow, manager Greene is eager to make it three wins in a row on the opening day of the season.

“Let’s be the invincibles this year,” said Greene, challenging his side to go the campaign unbeaten.

“Two years ago we went there as an unknown quantity and we were more aggresive in the second half.

“This time we go with a side we think is capable.

“We’ve got 42 games and we’re looking for around 84 points to be up there.”

Yesterday (Tuesday), United secured the loan signing of Peterborough United’s teenage goalkeeper Henrich Ravas, and expect to have a fully-fit squad available to select from.

Greene also dismissed any further shock signings ahead of kick off, after unleashing matchwinner Chris Dickinson onto an unsuspecting Barrow last season.

He added: “We’ve got our squad and we’re happy with it, so there won’t be no rabbits out of hats this year.

“We’re really looking forward to it.

“We look fit and really competitive and I’m really looking forward to a really good start.”

The Pilgrims will host Solihull Moors at home on Tuesday (KO 7.45pm).
